Dog-o-war

The "Dog-o-War", is a made from a piece of Hawthorn, that someone had placed an Iron clamp around for an unknown purpose, which the tree had gradually started to envelope before another unknown, drove a digger into it hence the tearing.

A friend brought me this, knowing I love wood with "enveloped" or "included" metal objects and with the small stub of a side branch, it cried [or barked - a two pronged bad pun] out "Unleash the Dogs Of War".

This piece is not " in the round", only being made to be viewed from the one aspect.
